About the Show

The Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Against Being Captured centers the survival tactics of queer-Asian-female subjects in the United States. As always, I am interested in the imperfect ways that marginalized subjects learn how to navigate, fight, and create loving spaces within oppressive institutions and systems.

…………………………………..It sometimes feels hard to go on. It sometimes feels hard to want to go on.

 In response, this project focuses on family, food, love, longing, and rest. Together with an in-person audience I explore the various stereotypes, identities, and future paths available to an East Asian woman. We do a little kickboxing. We call a friend. We drink some tea. We listen to a bedtime story. 

This performance is open to people of all identities, but it was written for queer/POC/people affected by misogyny.
